The DTEA Senior Secondary School. Lodhi Estate, needs no introduction. It has been maintaining consistency in securing top ranking positions amongst the Schools of the metropolis, including the Public Schools in the pass percentage as well as distinction in various visionary P. H. S. Iyer who started the School with a single student. But for him and the persistent endeavours of his successors, we would not have branched out into 7 Schools sprawling in the various areas of the Capital, with a teaming 7000 students and 700 teachers. The emphasis is not only on the development of academics but also the co-curricular and extra curricular activities. Thus we are able to shape the all-round development of child. Our students have excelled in various fields and won many prizes in inter School Competitions, be it Athletics, Arts, Drama, Music, Elocution or Recitation. We had won innumerable Prizes in various competitions organized by Ramayan Vidya Pete, Geetha Ramayan Samsthan, Vivekananda Kendra etc. Every year students of class IX. X, XI & XII appeared for the Special Test held by Olympiad Mathematics. It gives them confidence to appear in the Board Examination. Our students take part in Inter-School General Knowledge Test organized by United Schools Organization, Information Test conducted by UN and UNESCO. We Conduct Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan Sanskrit Examination, Bal Bodh, Prarambh.Pravesh, Parichay, Kovid etc, and examination on Gita and Ramacharita Manas every year. 
We send our students class VI & IX for the open Merit Scholarship and for the National Talent Search Examinations. We have an NCC wing in our school, and about 100 students undergo the training, under Mr. Murugan our Asstt. Tr. & also an NCC officer. In inter DTEA Children’s Day at DTEA Senior Secondary School, L. B. Nagar our school has won the first prize in Essay writing & General Knowledge competitions & third prize in Tamil Recitation and the rolling best performance shield. Every year, we have been organizing Social Service week and Free Medical Check up for the parents. The Medical check up is carried out by a team or Doctors, most of them are our old students. Our aim is to make every child self-sufficient and self-confident, to face the world independently and courageously. A large number of our ex-students, who have made a name for themselves in foreign countries and India, in the face of stiff competition, are a living testimony of the success of our efforts. We thank all donors and well-wishers who have been kind enough to help us in providing amenities to us. The school has fully computerized and automated office. All the documents in the office are completed generated. The office has their own programs for all the accounts documents including Income Tax Calculation. We feel deeply indebted to these great people of our institutions who had build this heritage by sweat and toil.
