Secretary, DTEA (Regd.)
The
Delhi Tamil Education Association (Regd.) briefly
known as DTEA was constituted with one student - one
teacher in the year 1923. During the last 82 years,
the Association has progressed very well by providing
quality education to students and now it is running
Seven Senior Secondary Schools in its own building in
various parts of the city namely, Lodi Estate, Mandir
Marg, Karol Bagh, Laxmibai Nagar, R.K.Puram, Moti Bagh
and Janakpuri. More than 8000 students with staff strength
of around 500 (teaching and non teaching) are involved
in the smooth functioning of these schools. The DDA
has allotted 2 acres of land at Mayur Vihar Phase-III
for opening the 8th branch of our DTEA (Regd.) The management
is making efforts to commence the construction work
at this site.
The
Delhi Tamil Education Association (Regd.) has grown
to enjoy an unparalleled reputation in the educational
scenario of today. We are proud to be associated with
this closely knit fraternity where the seeds of educational
enlightenment were first sown by farsighted, visionary
educationists.
The
schools have come a long way and enjoy a reputation for
excellence in academics, sports and cultural activities.
This synergy of achievement is borne from the commitment
of our well-qualified and dedicated staff, the vision
of the parents at the helm of affairs in the Management
and the spirit of confidence and dynamism that our students
generate. Our motto "Service before Self" finds
_expression in nurturing our schools.
The
DTEA does not boast of an elite or powerful lobby of parents
but it provides education to people of all classes. The
sheer number of our students is no disadvantage as they
generate a special feeling of camaraderie, of a healthy
competitive spirit and resilience to adversity. In the
schools run by DTEA there is a place for everyone, from
the brightest to the not so brilliant. We believe that
each child is an individual with manifold talents, waiting
to unfold in the right environment. We have fostered a
healthy atmosphere of sharing and caring.
Ours
is a microcosm, a very special one, which has been the
gateway for many eminent personalities. I am wonderstruck
with awe these great institutions inspire. My mission
in life is to serve the institution well to see its growing
heights in all fields of development, Character and nationalism
etc. In this endeavour, I appeal to all the well wishers
of the Association, old alumni, teachers and other staff
members of DTEA Schools, parents and associate members
to come forward and do their might in the growth of the
Association. Singlehandedly none can do, as the task before
us is huge.
I
also welcome well thoughtout suggestions, cooperation
and assistance in every possible manner to see the Association
grow more and more in imparting quality education to all
our growing children.
